So far the year 2019 has been an encore performance for the historic rally that started on election day 2016. Since that time the SP500 is up over 40%. How much higher can stocks go? With the Fed not looking to raise rates, the economy still humming along and unemployment very low, not much outside of Europe looks like it could derail this market any time soon. A trade deal would be great to have, but investors should be careful when it comes. A trade deal would likely add a spark to the sputtering Chinese economy. In turn, this could cause the Fed to switch its stance on monetary policy.
